Training is active—not passive.

Participants practice what they learn through presentations, role-play, workplace scenarios, mock interviews, group exercises, problem-solving challenges, and real-world simulations.

Who We Serve

The Academy's initial focus is young adults ages 18–21, particularly those who may benefit from additional preparation for employment, adulthood, and successful community participation.

Cornerstone is designed to work collaboratively with:

Courts • Probation • Reentry Programs • Community Organizations • Workforce Partners • Schools • Juvenile Justice Agencies • Adult Justice Agencies

The Cornerstone Approach

Cornerstone is built around a simple principle: skills become useful when participants have the opportunity to practice them.

Participants are not expected to sit through hours of lectures about communication, professionalism, or decision-making. They are expected to speak, practice, demonstrate, reflect, problem-solve, and improve.

The Academy uses experiential learning activities including professional introductions, 60-second elevator speeches, mock interviews, workplace scenarios, role-play, storytelling, conflict-resolution exercises, collaborative challenges, and individual feedback.

Participants enter the Academy with different experiences and abilities. The goal is measurable growth—not perfection.
