The Program
Our Structured Day Model
Cornerstone operates as a structured daytime program designed to create consistency, responsibility, and routine. Participants attend scheduled programming during the day and return home in the evening.
This model allows young adults to remain connected to their families and communities while receiving the structure and support necessary to build independence.
Our approach is trauma-informed, strength-based, and accountability-focused. We meet participants where they are while helping them develop the tools needed to move forward.
Daily Schedule Overview
Each program day includes structured blocks focused on:
• Check-in and goal setting
• Life skills development
• Group sessions (gender-responsive when appropriate)
• Individual counseling or mentoring
• Workforce readiness and career preparation
• Case planning and progress review
Daily routines promote stability, time management, emotional regulation, and responsibility.
Core Services
Mental Health Counseling
Participants receive individual and group counseling focused on emotional regulation, coping skills, trauma processing, decision-making, and healthy relationship development. Services are provided within a supportive and confidential environment.
Mentoring
Each participant is connected with a mentor or positive adult role model who provides encouragement, accountability, and guidance. Consistent mentorship strengthens confidence and promotes healthy decision-making.
Workforce Readiness
We prepare participants for employment or education through resume development, interview preparation, workplace communication skills, and connections to job training or educational programs. Our goal is to support long-term self-sufficiency.
Gender-Responsive Groups
Cornerstone provides gender-specific programming that recognizes the unique experiences, challenges, and strengths of young men and young women. Groups address emotional development, identity, peer relationships, and healthy decision-making in ways that are relevant and empowering.
Individualized Case Planning
Each participant works with staff to develop a personalized plan that includes goals related to employment, education, mental health, and community stability. Progress is reviewed regularly to ensure accountability and measurable growth.
